However, they’re still interested in looking their best. More of us are now looking for environmentally friendly fashion, beauty and lifestyle tips—some of which might not have even been on the public radar, just a few years ago! We’ve come a long way fast. But we can always take our environmentally fierce outlook further.

For example, we’re now looking for animal-cruelty free clothing options. Or natural beauty choices, and farm-to-table food offerings. Anything we can do, helps. Here are a few tips to help you to look your best, while being more environmentally fierce, too.

Try some “organic” clothes

There are plenty of “eco” and “organic” clothes being sold these days. And before you get it twisted, they’re not the eco-friendly clothes of the past. You know—the ugly and ill-fitting ones. Thanks to online shopping, it’s now easy to explore Tencel properties, and find out more about these products, within just a few minutes! 

Whether you’re looking for clothes that are made from sustainable, organic, and humanely farmed & traded cotton, or you’re interested in new types of fabric that may be even more environmentally friendly, it’s worth investigating this growing industry. Once upon a time, these sorts of clothes didn’t have the best reputation in terms of their overall fashion appeal. However, today there’s a lot of innovation going on in that area. So, you can still dress fiercely while reducing your eco-footprint.

Eat more locally grown, whole foods

Clothes and makeup are obviously major components of looking your best, but one of the most important things you can do to look your best, is to eat a nutritious, whole-foods diet. And cut out processed foods, as much as possible! They are disgusting. (At least just keep telling yourself that anyway.) Your body simply performs better when you’re giving it a good balance of essential vitamins and minerals, as well as the right proportions of micronutrients, and calories.

Not only does this make you healthier, but it also makes you look better. For example, your skin isn’t likely to look great after a major cake binge or pizza indulgence. Organic, whole foods are one thing—but when you source your food locally, you are also going a long way in terms of cutting down on the overall environmental footprint of what you’re eating.

Get more sleep

Getting your “beauty sleep” helps you to look your best, just automatically. Your skin is more hydrated, your immune system functions better, and you’ll be more bright-eyed. On top of this, getting more sleep also helps you to make better and more sensible lifestyle decisions! And those can have a knock-on effect when it comes to your physical appearance and personal presentation.

When you’re highly sleep deprived, you’re more likely to binge eat, forget your personal grooming routine, and pay less attention to the outfits you’re choosing. Catch up on your shuteye, and the benefits for your looks can be substantial.
