It’s Almost the New Year—What Are Your Travel Plans & Goals?

How to Shop a Fierce Thrifted Outfit for $30 | The Lady-like Leopard

Travelling is by far one of the best things that you can do. In my opinion, there’s nothing like a (Roman) holiday. Even the planning part of it is fun. Finding your dream destination, choosing the hotel and time you want to go for, and discovering all of the things that you can do. You’re either going to be someone who has the thrill of this experience often, because you’re lucky enough to be able to book frequent vacations. Or you haven’t experienced it for a while and you’re long overdue. Regardless of your 2020 travel goals, it’s time to get exploring.

Some people aren’t brought up travelling abroad. (Shocking, I know.) It’s very common for families to prefer holidays within their own country. For example, camping trips. It’s so much easier to organize, far cheaper, and way closer to home. However, holidaying abroad is soon to be your new addiction. It’s a luxury that you crave the moment you step off the plane back home. So, to make sure that you can feel the excitement of a holiday soon, let’s focus on 2020 travel goals and plans.

What Are Your 2020 Travel Goals?

Take more city breaks

When you look at the sorts of vacations people enjoy most, it’s usually beach breaks. A holiday where couples and families flock to each year. A beach break is usually spent at an all inclusive resort for a week or two, doing the odd excursion. But for the most part, it’s spent with the kids in the pool, or topping up your tan on a sunbed. However, while these holidays are fabulous for relaxing, they’re not the holiday that’s going to leave you craving more. It won’t allow you to experience the true beauty of a country. To see more of a city, plan a downtown holiday.

A city vacay is perfect for your 2020 travel goals if you’re looking to keep it low budget, and you’re looking for adventure. There are so many different city breaks that you could try, all of which bring their own experience. You could go to Amsterdam, and experience all of the weird and wonderful things that it has to offer. You could go to Paris, and find yourself sipping red wine and eating more cheese and croissants than you can imagine. Or perhaps Rome will take your fancy, and you’ll find yourself standing at the top of the Spanish Steps, looking down on the amazing architecture.

Use better travel hacks

To make your travel plans better, you might just need to use better travel hacks. I’m thinking about the ones that are going to make your trip easier and more enjoyable. We’ve all had a moment from hell on holiday that could have been avoided, such as a camera or phone breaking, transport not turning up, money being stolen. (Eek!) All of this can be avoided, if you’re careful with the belongings that you have. Pro tip: there are waterproof cases that will stop cameras and phones from getting wet, which is one of the most common ways they break on a holiday.

Gett your hotel to order you a taxi, so you know it’s always safe and actually going to turn up. Even simple travel tips like making sure you check out the most Insta-worthy spots, to make sure that you capture the best moments, can make all the difference. There’s plenty of websites out there that will show you hacks related to the country you’re going to.

Go to the other side of the world

What better travel plan to make than to go to the other side of the world? When you think about it, the other side of the world is so alien to us. They’re living a completely different life, and couldn’t be further away. It’s the pinnacle of all adventures, because you couldn’t feel more far away if you tried. So if you live on the opposite side to Australia, you’re in for a treat. The country is so vast, you could spend a whole year (or more) exploring it.

If you plan a few months in advance, and make sure you pick out all of the hotspots that you want to see the most, the trip will be a blast. Plus, it’s their summer at the moment and you won’t feel it cool down for many more months. Perhaps a last minute holiday is in order? If you’re on the side of the world that is Australia, or near, then your location should be America. Again, a country so vast that you could spend a lot of your life discovering each city.

Pack up & go for good

A final suggestion for your 2020 travel goals that many you will have thought about before: pack up and go for good. Well, maybe not literally for good. However, if you’re young, wild, and free and haven’t started your own family yet, why not travel the world while you can? If you save roughly around $10,000, you should be able to travel for a large part of the year, and then work in bars in the countries you go to, if you have to. Most of all: have fun and stay fierce.
