5 Leopard Print Style Tips We Can Learn from Kate Moss

Kate Moss 1990s — Leopard Print Evolution | The Lady-like Leopard Blog by Melina Morry | Kate Moss Leopard Print

It should be known that by now “Kate Moss Leopard Print” is a style category all on its own. After all, Kate Moss, with her quintessentially British style, has an undeniable penchant for prints—namely, my favourite one: leopard. She has literally been wearing the same outfit for 15 years and it still works! Imagine that? Your fashion sense is so beyond any trend that it remains current through decades.

Ever since she was a fresh-faced Brit in the early 90s, she’s stolen the hearts of leo lovers around the world. Admittedly, I discovered the glory of Kate much later on, since I was a baby in the early 90s. However, I’ve definitely done my fair share of copy-cat Kate style since learning how to use my debit card at the mall—with the part of my allowance that wasn’t going towards old Mariah Carey CDs.

The Kate Moss Leopard Print aesthetic is still as fierce as ever, influencing leopard looks all across the globe. So, let’s take a look at five leopard print lessons we can learn from this supermodel muse. After all, how many street style photos have you seen of Ms. Moss sporting spots? My point exactly.

1. You can’t go wrong with a leopard print coat

A leopard print coat is an absolute essential in any wardrobe. It’s a fierce topper to any look—from a basic Supreme tee & jeans to a floral wrap dress. Here, Kate is wearing her leopard outerwear style for a night on the town. However, a leopard print coat can effortlessly be worn on casual, off-duty days too.

2. Sometimes just a peek is all you need

For those who fear this print, just a peek is a safe style bet. This can be in the form of a leopard print bikini under a sheer cover-up or a classy leopard tube top under a mesh blouse.

3. You don’t have to stay within the traditional spots

Leopard spots come in all shapes, sizes & colours so why not switch it up every now & then? I’m all for classic spots but once in a while I crave the undeniable boldness of a deep red leopard or black & white print. Also, this jacket blends different types of leopard within the same design for an edgy-cool appeal.

4. Leopard print accessories jazz up any look

Sure, you could grab that black clutch you’re constantly carrying. Or you can sling some spots over your shoulder and make a street style statement. Kate’s over-the-shoulder purse gorgeously complements her camel-hued coat.

5. Black is a flawless base to fierce spots

Can you really go wrong with black? Absolutely not. (That was definitely a rhetorical question.) Black is always my go-to base for leopard print so that the spots really pop. However, that being said, don’t be afraid to clash leopard with other prints either.
