Getting the jewellery right

Jewellery is very personal. One person’s bling can be another’s monstrosity. And your taste is very much your own. But there are items out there that can match any personality type or sense of style.

A diamond industrial bar can look ornate and exciting while showing that you are unconventional and make your own style choices in life. Similarly, you may want to look for some great statement pieces when it comes to necklaces. Wearing something like an acrylic custom piece that has been designed for you, by one of the fantastic artists who run independent businesses, can really shout about who you are—and what you love.

However, if shouting is not what you’re about, think about something more subtle. Sedate silver pieces will give a more graceful aesthetic. You can have a small amount of sparkle, while you allow your clothing, and your natural beauty to speak for itself. Another accessory that you could put under the umbrella of jewellery is glasses. Whether you’re rocking sunnies or chic prescription frames, you need a high quality pair of designer glasses. If you’re having a bad makeup day or you want to boost your levels of sophistication, glasses are the perfect way to take your outfit to new heights.

Belts & scarves

A belt can be used in so many ways. It’s easy to think about them in the practical sense and wear them for what they were intended. But if you want to separate an outfit, or take the attention away from a particular area of your body, a belt can do just that.

A wide belt can really help distract attention away from your stomach, especially if worn loose. While, a narrow belt worn tight can help bring your waistline in, creating more of a cinched look. Don’t be afraid to wear your belt over your jacket or cardigan too.

Think about the color that you go for. A black, or dark brown belt can create a bold contrast on a lighter outfit while a vibrant color may jump straight out.

Scarves are a great way of drawing attention to, or from, different parts of your body. How you tie them, where you wear them, and the colours that you go for are all important factors to think about.
Vibrant colours will really stand out. This will look particularly strong if it’s contrasting against the rest of the outfit. Similarly, something like a leopard print pattern will be very bold over a plain top.
