It’s Not Too Late! Your Guide to Getting Even Fiercer This Year

Your Guide to Having a Fierce Year | The Lady-like Leopard

Ok, so we might be a few months into 2019 but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t time to have a fierce year still. In fact, there’s still time to make it your fiercest year ever. Don’t believe me? Well, you won’t know until you try. And you’re not alone—I’m putting these tips & tricks into practice too. I mean, come on, who doesn’t want glowing skin, a killer wardrobe and a positive mindset?

So, here’s what to do to make sure that you feel your most fabulous, fierce & ferocious ever.

It’s Not Too Late to Have a Fierce Year & Here’s How

Start moving & shaking

Yes, there is a little effort involved, but it really is worth it. You don’t have to take up marathon running to reap the benefits of regular exerciseyour routine could be as simple as taking a brisk walk every day. Your skin will look great, your clothes will fit better, and you’ll feel mentally able to cope with anything. I work out about 5 days a week. Which, I suppose can be a little much for some people! But it makes me feel fab.

Eat like the Queen you are

You can’t expect to feel on top of the world if your diet is filled with cheeseburgers and chocolate. Even if those things are so good. To feel and look your best, cook homemade meals from scratch that include fresh ingredients and lots of veggies. It might take a bit of extra time, but your mind and body will thank you for it. However, I am still a firm believer in “everything in moderation.”

Get your skin glowing

Sleeping in your makeup, tiredness and stress can all cause your skin to look sad and even a little more lined than you’d like. And trust me, no one likes that. Make your skin glow with a great new moisturizer and a regular cleansing routine. If you need a bit of extra help to keep the march of time at bay, consider Botox injections to reduce wrinkles (some of my friends are all over this option) or you can use products like some of my faves from Better Skin Co.

Update your fierce wardrobe

Assess your clothes collection with a critical eye, and decide what works and what doesn’t. If nothing else, this will give you a great excuse to hit the shops! Get advice on how to give your wardrobe a boost, and you’ll look forward to getting dressed every morning. And to make things even easier, go through your closet and create outfits. Take photos and keep them in a folder in your phone to refer back to when you’re in a rush to head out the door and don’t know what to wear.

Drink more water

Many people don’t drink enough water, believing fizzy drinks or tea and coffee to be just as good for staying hydrated. Start your day with a glass of cool H2O for a cleansing and invigorating way to wake up. Drinking water throughout the day means that you are much less likely to overeat, and you’ll feel much more energized and alert than usual. I drink a minimum of 2L per day. Sure, I have to hit the washroom lots but the benefits are worth it.

Change your mind set

It doesn’t matter how great you look if you don’t feel good inside. Try affirmations to help your mind catch up with your body in the greatness stakes. Repeat affirmations like: “I am a beautiful, confident woman” (or whatever words work for you) in front of the mirror every day. If you do this often enough, you will believe it. And then your confidence will soar! Also, taking up a yoga class can be really helpful. You’ll find that having an hour to just focus on you and your mindset is so beneficial.

Ditch the two-faced fashionistas

You know those “friends” who drag you down with criticisms and “helpful” suggestions on how you can improve? Steer clear of them! Or better yet, cut off contact altogether. You’ll feel better almost instantly! Recently, I wrote a post for Thirteen Thoughts about deleting toxic friendships from your life. If someone isn’t lifting you up, then it’s time for them to go. You don’t need that kind of negativity in your life.

You deserve to be bursting with self-confidence. So, take control by taking action. You won’t regret it. Have a fierce year!
