It always starts with, “OMG I love your sneakers!” And that’s when I know that something good is about to happen. After all, my lucky leopard sneakers rarely let me down. In fact, they bring me compliments, comfort and crazy-cool style. They’re one of the best purchases I’ve ever made and they have proven to be worth every dollar spent on them.
I’ve had them for about four years now. Unfortunately, they’re looking a little rough around the edges. But that just means that they’ve got good tales to tell, right? So, let’s take a walk in my shoes and I’ll tell you all about my lucky leopard sneakers.
The Story of My Lucky Leopard Sneakers
They got me into Tribeca Film Festival
Earlier this year, my boyfriend & I went to Tribeca Film Festival. There was a #TribecaImmersive VR experience we really wanted to see called SPHERES, but unfortunately didn’t get a chance to on the first day because it was so busy. On the second day, we got there early so we wouldn’t miss out. However, our chances still weren’t looking good. A woman in line ahead of us noticed my lucky leopard sneakers and gushed about how much she loved them! Turns out, she was the mother of the girl who created the virtual reality experience we wanted to see. She brought her daughter over to meet us and got us in right away!
They landed me a writing gig
Recently I wore my lucky leopard sneakers to a men’s sportswear event. They were the perfect choice because the event was being held at Hotel X’s sports shop—but also my feet were sore from wearing heels all day. A girl came up to me and mentioned that she loved my shoes and how they matched my phone case—which also happens to be leopard print. We got to talking and it turns out, she works for a menswear magazine and was in need of a writer! I quickly volunteered for the opportunity and just completed my first assignment this past weekend.
They help me meet fabulous people
More often than not, nothing insanely lucky happens when I wear my leopard print sneakers. But they do increase my chances of meeting some pretty fabulous people. After all, what’s a better talking point than outrageously bold leopard print sneakers? They’re my commuting shoes, my go-to sneakers and my kind of elevated comfort. What’s not to love?
So far, my leopard print sneakers have been to Lima, New York, Victoria, Toronto and London. I can’t wait to find out where they go next and what kind of luck they bring me! What’s your lucky garment?
