What woman doesn’t want to look flawless, desirable and attractive? It’s natural. After all, drawing attention (for the right reasons) is a fabulous feeling. Looking fierce is not only important for others to see, it boosts our confidence and self-esteem too. There are some modern beauty tips that enhance your appearance, but not all are healthy or make us truly feel our best.

Cleanse your face religiously

You should definitely be washing your face at least twice a day. I usually wash mine in my morning shower and then again at night to take off my makeup. Also, it’s important to know what skin type you have so you can get the products best suited for you. One thing to keep in mind: do not over wash your face! However, to get a really deep cleanse that’s also gentle, I recommend using Foreo’s Luna Play cleansing brush. I recently started using it and I’m obsessed.

Exfoliate your skin

When we let dead skill cells build up, our face can end up looking dry, old and dull. Obviously you don’t want that. Exfoliating your skin once a week will keep you looking fresh & fabulous while also clearing away dirt and leftover makeup. I also love using face masks, too! Every Skincare Sunday I exfoliate, do a face mask, moisturize & bask in the glow of my gorgeous skin.

Eat healthy (most of the time)

A balanced & nutritious diet is a surefire way to stay healthy. Adding some extra veggies and fruits to your daily meals never hurts. For example, foods that are rich in vitamins (sweet potatoes, pumpkins and oranges) or omega-3 fatty acids (walnuts and flax seeds), as well as high protein foods (kidney beans, white meat, cottage cheese, eggs and lentils) will work wonders for your natural beauty.

Moisturize your face & body

I used to think that because my skin is so oily, it wasn’t necessary to moisturize. That is, until one day when I was getting a facial and the aesthetician discovered that I rarely moisturized. She was horrified. And so was I when I saw my skin under lights that show what areas of your skin are the most dehydrated. I started moisturizing that day and have never looked back.

Style your luscious locks

We all know what it feels like to have a bad hair day. Ugh! As if. However, in order to avoid them, you first need to know what type of hair you have. Then, find a fantastic hairdresser that can give you a fabulous cut that looks just as good styled as it does when you roll out of bed in the morning—well, almost. Drink plenty of water

This hardly falls under the category of modern beauty tips, but it’s essential nonetheless. Keep wrinkles at bay and quench your skin! By drinking lots of water, you can help keep your skin & body smooth, fresh and lively. I’ve been loving lemon water lately, which helps switch it up from my usual tap. Also, sparkling water is fabulous because it makes me feel like I’m not actually drinking water while getting all the same benefits.

Love yourself inside & out

Perhaps the most crucial tip to unlocking your natural beauty: self love. It all starts with your thought process, people! As they say, you can’t fully love anyone else until you love yourself. And it’s so true. It sounds kind of cringeworthy but—just look at yourself in the mirror and start to recognize all the things you love about yourself. It works wonders.
