How to Give Back this Giving Tuesday After a Weekend of Shopping Sprees

Giving Tuesday Charity Gifts | The Lady-like Leopard Blog

After a weekend of shopping sprees, we can be left feeling pretty exhausted. Maybe a little bit selfish, too. Of course, retail therapy has its perks but it isn’t always enough to combat the craziness of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. That’s why I thought it would be fun (and super stylish) to think of a few Giving Tuesday charity gifts that will help you feel incredible.

I bet you’re wondering what Giving Tuesday even is. It’s okay—that was me too until a couple of days ago. According to the Giving Tuesday website, this is what they’re all about:

“It is a global movement for giving and volunteering, taking place each year after Black Friday. The “Opening day of the giving season,” it’s a time when charities, companies and individuals join together and rally for favourite causes.”

Sure, buying something new and shiny just for the sake of it is fun. But what about buying something glam that also helps someone else? In any case, it’s almost the holidays and if we’re going to be shopping it might as well be for a good cause. From adopting your own leopard to donating your hardly worn wardrobe, here are my fave Giving Tuesday charity gifts.

A Few of My Favourite Giving Tuesday Charity Gifts

Adopt a leopard from World Wildlife

Obviously, this one is super important to me! Due to habitat loss and poaching, Amur leopards have become critically endangered. It’s rumoured that there are only 30 left in the world. Which, is almost too awful to comprehend. By adopting an Amur leopard from World Wildlife, you can help with securing habitats and establishing anti-poaching teams! This gift is also perfect for that person who has everything. After all, who can say that they have a leopard?

Cost: $55 for virtual adoption, adoption kits $25-$100

Donate clothes to Dress For Success

If you’re low on cash after this huge shopping weekend and want to give back to your community, this one is for you. No doubt, you need to make a little extra room in your closet for all your new purchases anyways. Dress For Success is an international not-for-profit organization that helps empower women to look and feel their best. They provide professional attire, support networks and the tools that women need to thrive in work and life. So, round up all your best—and washed, please—fashion staples and donate them today!

Cost: Free

Grab your pet a new toy or blanket from PetSmart

PetSmart’s Philanthropic Collection is the perfect way to shop gifts for your pets and feel extra good about it. (As if seeing your dog try to open a present isn’t thrilling enough on its own.) The collection includes a range of ultra-adorable plush toys and blankets, with 10% of sales going to PetSmart Charities of Canada. However, if you purchase on Giving Tuesday—online and in-store— then 100% of sales from the plushies are going to charity! Now that’s something to feel good about.

Cost: Toys range from $5-$8.50, blankets and throws are $32.99

Holiday slipper socks from Bootlegger

Bootlegger has teamed up with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada this season to create a super cute collection of Holiday Slipper Socks. $1 from every purchase will directly benefit the charity. The money raised from these charming socks will help “ensure that Canadian youth receive the support of a mentor to help tackle issues like bullying, as well as instil self-confidence.” I have the reindeer pair and I fully intend on wearing them all day on Christmas!

Cost: $10

Purchase a pair of Limited Edition Snow Leopard sunglasses

This is the gift that keeps on giving. If you’re not into just adopting a leopard on its own (see the first point) then surely you’d want to adopt one with a pair of sleek sunglasses? These Limited Edition Snow Leopard frames from Westward Leaning come with a personalized snow leopard adoption package! Also, you’ll get a $50 W\L gift card if you buy them between now and December 31st. If anyone is looking for Giving Tuesday charity gifts for me, you may have just stumbled across it.

Cost: $185-$225
