Choose The Jewelry You Want To Wear First

Instead of choosing your outfit first and then selecting your jewelry afterwards, choose the jewelry you want to wear first and then base your outfit around that. If you have a statement necklace you’re dying to wear, for instance, this could be a great way to show it off and make sure you do it justice.

Clash Pieces

Don’t be afraid to clash pieces either. You can clash colours, styles, and anything else you want to with your jewelry. If you prefer an eclectic look, or you just want to try one out, this is a great idea. It can work really well if you’re going to a festival! There are no rules when it comes to jewelry styling.

Layer Everything

Layer absolutely everything. Layering is uber trendy, whether you’re layering hooped earrings, stacking rings, or necklaces of different lengths. It can give a really multi dimensional, textured effect. It can also add somewhat of a boho feel to your look. The key to getting this right is to practice with different lengths, sizes, shapes, and colours to find what works for you. You could come up with a few different arrangements and then stick to them depending on what look you’re going for.

Don’t Be Scared To Mix Different Metals

Mixing different metals can be done without looking ridiculous, too! Some people think you can’t wear certain metals together, but you absolutely can. All you need is a little confidence. You can stack different metal rings, for instance, sticking to one metal for each finger. You could wear some 925 silver by Elf925 with something rose gold, for example, when styling your jewelry.

Choose One ‘Star’ And Your Supporting Roles

A statement piece or two is a must in any jewelry collection. If you want to make a statement, choose your ‘star’ of the show, whether this is a statement necklace, ring, or something else. Then choose your supporting roles. This could be some daintier necklaces supporting one stand-out piece, or delicate stacking rings surrounding something big and bold. It helps to show off one single piece, without overwhelming your look visually.

It still adds interest and dimension without going OTT. Of course, you can go OTT if you really want to. You can layer on all the statement pieces you like! It’s just a good idea to make sure you’re being selective with your pieces to avoid looking garish. Why not take off the last piece you put on before you leave the house, like many designers swear by?

Use these tips and you’ll soon feel confident enough to take your jewelry styling to the next level. Do you have tips of your own? Leave them below!
