Selecting which spring trends 2016 you want to incorporate into your wardrobe can be a tough decision – especially when there are so many to choose from! Space-age metallics, girly ruffles, romantic florals, sequins, stripes. This is not a decision to be made without a little help – from none other than Toronto’s most famous pup, Pom Pom Chewy.
The spring trends for 2016 are already great but to make things even better I teamed up to shoot alongside one of the cutest dogs in Toronto, Pom Pom Chewy! We spent a fun (but a little bit gloomy) Sunday shooting spring trend looks at Chewy’s building along with his super cool owner Nicole and our friend Shanel, the creative mind behind Kanvas Jewelry.
All photos were taken by Nicole and all jewellery (including the chain beanie) is by Kanvas Jewelry. The outfits were styled by me and came directly from my own closet – find out details underneath each section below!
Fashion with Pom Pom Chewy: My Top 3 Spring Trends
1. Fashion with Pom Pom Chewy: Lingerie in the day
This is probably my number one spring trend of 2016 but it’s also the one that requires the most effort. There’s a fine line between fashionably wearing lingerie outside of your house and actually looking like you just forgot to get dressed. I paired this black slip dress with an oversized leather jacket and chunky heeled ankle boots to make it look more edgy than sexy.
What I’m wearing:
slip dress | HANDMADE VINTAGE
leather jacket | VINTAGE (was my mom’s back in the day)
ankle boots | WINDSOR SMITH
jewellery and beanie | KANVAS JEWELRY
2. Fashion with Pom Pom Chewy: Off-the-shoulder tops
I’m all about showing some skin – emphasis on some. If it’s going to be boobs, then it’s not going to be legs and vice versa. What I love about the off-the-shoulder trend is that it’s subtle enough to get away with showing a little skin somewhere else too. For this look I went really casual with a pair of high-waisted Calvin Klein jeans but I definitely think you could get away with wearing this top with a suede, leather or denim mini skirt too.

3. Fashion with Pom Pom Chewy: Oversized florals
This is a great trend for the hopeless romantic that is inside all of us, you know, if we dig deep enough. This skirt was sent to me by Relaxfeel – a Hong Kong-based online fashion retailer – and I can’t wait to start wearing it out once the weather warms up a little more. Here I’ve paired it with a silk tank and ankle boots but in the warmer months I’ll switch out the boots for sandals and the wool coat for a denim jacket.
