Where to Take Your Laptop & Get a Glass of Wine When Coffee Just Won’t Cut It

Toronto Wine Cafes — Where to Take Your Laptop & Work | The Lady-like Leopard

Every now and then it’s nice to kick back with a glass of wine—even while you work. Sometimes I go to my freelance copywriting job from 9-5pm at an office and then come home to work on blog posts, other contracts, interviews, etc. As a result, I work some pretty long hours. Yet after 5pm I don’t really want any more coffee to help me keep going. So what do I do? Head to one of my favourite Toronto wine cafes, of course.

After working all day, a glass of vino can be just what you need. When you work incredibly hard, it’s a well-deserved treat to type away with an alcoholic beverage by your side. Plus, if you’re going out with your girlfriends and still want to be productive, these places are perfect.

However, I’m not saying you should go out and get completely trashed when you have an important deadline. But sometimes it’s nice to put those final editing touches on that ultra-cool photo shoot or brainstorm some new post ideas while casually sipping a chilled sauvignon blanc. So, cheers to my favourite Toronto wine cafes!

1. Odin Cafe & Bar

First of all, Odin Cafe & Bar is so visually pleasing it’s insane. I’d go there strictly for the photos! Of course, their food and drinks are fabulous too. I’ve yet to try something I don’t like. The abundance of natural light, plants and open space creates a really welcoming and relaxing environment to work in. And an added bonus: The wifi is always on point.

2. Batch

I’ve come to Batch on the hottest summer days to get some work done. It’s a great place to cool down with a beer and some serious air conditioning. Batch is a little slice of heaven on Victoria Street that’ll have you refreshed, motivated and maybe a little bit buzzed. Their food is also pretty great—I love the pork belly sandwich.

3. Versus Coffee

A great spot for summer sipping, Versus Coffee is a little cafe with a big patio! Their chic all-white interior makes for amazing Insta shots too. There’s not a whole lot of room inside, so if it’s chilly out make sure to get there early so you can snag a spot inside! They have beers on tap but if you’re feeling like a coffee, try their Campfire Latte which I’ve heard is amazing!

4. The Walton

I know this is a bold statement to make but The Walton is my favourite place in Toronto. First of all, it’s about a 10-minute walk from my apartment which is ultra-convenient. Secondly, their coffee is delicious and, of course, so is their wine. They have a variety of pastries and little bites to snack on too! I love the atmosphere at The Walton so much. It truly feels like you’ve been transported back in time with the vintage decor and jazz tunes.

5. The Drake Cafe

This is one of the first spots I used to take my laptop to when I first moved to Toronto. It was within walking distance from my house so it was the perfect spot. I love the laid-back vibe at The Drake Cafe. You can totally show up there in casual wear and not feel out of place. But you know me — I love a good dress up.
