Not only that, it gives you a way to notice patterns in the things you like. If you see lots of red on your board, you know you like that color. Pay close attention and see what sort of styles and pieces you really dig so you can start to notice what works for you.
Find the right words
Finding the right words to describe your style, or how you’d like your style to be can really help. For example, you might want to be vibrant, eccentric, and unique. You might want to be classy, bold, and glam. When you have a few words, commit them to memory and then always come back to them when shopping. It’s OK to like a piece but not buy it because it doesn’t fit your overall style. Some things will lose their magic after a wear or two, and you’ll wonder why you bought them. It’s usually because they didn’t fit in with your dominant style.
Find people who inspire you
Finding people who inspire you when it comes to style is really easy. There are online influencers, and also interesting news articles where you can read all about celebrities and who they are wearing. However, you probably shouldn’t pick one celebrity and try to copy them. Instead, pick a couple you like and go for a mix of what they would wear when shopping.
Inspect your wardrobe
Inspect your wardrobe and look at the things you wear and don’t wear. Figure out why you like the things you wear a lot so much, and why you may not wear the other things so much. Bear these things in mind when shopping, so you know exactly how you tick when it comes to getting dressed. You don’t want to have something you absolutely love in your wardrobe that you never end up wearing!

When you know the things you don’t wear, have a clear out. You’ll feel better when this weight has been lifted off your shoulders, and you can see exactly what you have to play with instead.

Then, when you’re feeling stuck, you can look back and find an outfit you loved before. Make sure you pay attention to how you look and feel in your outfits.
