Vancouver City Guide—Exploring the West Coast’s Wild Side

Vancouver City Guide | The Lady-like Leopard

If you’re thinking about taking a trip to the Canadian West Coast, you’d be smart to take your holiday in the fabulous city of Vancouver. This attractive seaport on the coast of British Columbia is where the party’s at. By day, it’s a great family destination with lots to do and see—from the Vancouver Maritime Museum to Burns Bog Nature Reserve. However, by night Vancouver transforms into a total fiesta! My Vancouver City Guide is here to cover that side of things.

The city is filled with some of the most rocking bars in the country, where everyone is welcome and everyone has a good time. So, what are you waiting for? Get online, book your flights and sort out ETIAS requirements then take a look at this list of Vancouver’s hippest night spots to help you plan the perfect holiday

Vancouver City Guide:
Exploring the West Coast’s Wild Side

Pub 340

If you’re looking for the perfect dive bar to sink a few beers and hear live bands play their hearts out, you’ll want to pay a visit to Pub 340. As well as being a place to see cool bands it’s also home to the biggest pinball rooms in the city! And it boasts a 1980s video game console. It’s hipster heaven!

Gastown

Head down to the city’s Gastown area where you can get to know the many regulars and enjoy a drink in one of the city’s many happening bars; all while admiring the historical architecture of the rather impressive buildings. Gastown is one of my favourite areas of Vancouver. If I could live anywhere, it would be there.

Steamworks Brewpub

On the third Wednesday of each month, the back room of the Gastown pub is the setting of an immensely popular Green Drinks social. It’s where people get together and talk about the environment while sampling a range of beers brewed in the pub. Even if environmental issues aren’t your thing, you won’t want to miss the delicious craft beers on offer.

Café Deux Soleils

If you enjoy a bit of culture with your brew, Café Deux Soleils is the place to be. This bohemian café holds regular poetry slam events, which are worth attending if you want to meet interesting people and hear some unique entertainment.

Fox Cabaret

If you’re looking for a really unique experience in Vancouver, Fox Cabaret, which was once a porno theatre, is now a popular live entertainment venue. On Sundays, you won’t want to miss the club’s Sunday Service—a great comedy show, which always sees the venue packed out.

Vancouver Art Gallery

If you’d rather spend your evenings in Vancouver seeing the cultural sights (rather than getting blackout drunk every night) you could check out the Vancouver Art Gallery’s schedule. After all, when the sun goes down it transforms into a happening nightclub space, bar and gallery tour venue.

Vancouver is one of the best places for hip, unique nightlife experiences—and we’ve only scratched the surface. If you want to take a walk on the wild side, this Canadian city is the place to be.
