Most Romantic Cities

Paris, France

Long called The City of Love, it would be criminal of me not to kick this list off with Paris! The French capital is famous for its romantic setting and beautiful scenery. Many couples have simply spent the day talking in a romantic Parisian cafe. Or the graceful Eiffel Tower is an exceptional backdrop to many proposals as well. In fact, some say you can’t go a week without seeing a public proposal in Paris. It’s the perfect venue for a Valentine’s getaway or just a romantic weekend for two.

Florence, Italy

This Italian city is regarded as one of the most beautiful cities in the country. It’s filled with artistic history and romance. As you walk the streets, you get a chance to discover the real Italy and try some delicious treats from market stalls. Florence is an incredibly magical place and an ideal visit for lovers. The buildings are styled like something out of an old Renaissance film; it’s incredibly romantic. One of the most iconic things in this city is the gorgeous Vecchio Bridge, a hotspot for travelling couples.

Verona, Italy

It’s no surprise that another Italian city makes this list! Italy has long had an association with love and romance, as many of their cities show. Verona is something of a little gem; it’s not one of the main places you’d think of visiting in Italy. What makes it so romantic is that it’s the setting of Shakespeare’s famous play, Romeo & Juliet. Couples swarm to the Juliet balcony and reenact the famous scene. Plus, there are plenty of romantic little restaurants for you to share a tasty bite to eat.

Vienna, Austria

Another romantic city to come out of Europe, Vienna is a true masterpiece. Everywhere you go the streets scream love and romance. Every walk you take will be filled with beautiful sights and sounds—it’s perfect for couples. What makes Vienna extra special is the music. Often you will hear the classical tones of Mozart being played by live street musicians. When the sun sets, it makes Vienna all the more romantic. Nothing beats a sunset stroll around this classical city.

Buenos Aires, Argentina

We finally take our romantic tour away from Europe and down to South America. Argentina, and all of South America, is famous for it’s burning passion. Romance is different here than it is in Europe, it’s a lot more passionate and fiery. You could enjoy a romantic Tango with your partner on the Argentinian streets, or share a meal in one of the many Buenos Aires restaurants that specialize in outdoor dining. You’ll get a true taste of Latin American passion in the streets of this marvellous city.

New York, United States

Perhaps something of a wildcard on this list, but, I consider New York to be one of the most romantic cities. Anyone who goes to New York in the winter will know it’s one of the best places on earth. It sets the perfect scene for a romantic winter break and is full of beautiful places to visit.
