You know when you live somewhere and you don’t always take advantage of all the beautiful spots that city has to offer? You fall into a routine and stick to your ‘bubble’ (you know, the area you live and work in)? Well, I’m lucky that I’m still seeing Toronto through new eyes and am actively searching for beautiful spots everywhere I go.
I discovered the stunning Allan Gardens, a nature sanctuary just East of downtown, a few months back when I did a shoot there for Theit Bags (that post is also coming soon, eek!). On the day of the shoot I did for this post, it was at least 30 degrees outside and inside the greenhouse, well, you can imagine how suffocatingly thick the air was.
We managed to get a few shots done before heading outside – outside, where the real ‘vacation’ took place. After taking a couple photos just around the corner from the entrance, we were reviewing them and noticed how incredibly not Toronto they looked. I felt like Beyonce in one of her insta-cation pics. Okay, maybe not that fierce. But still.
With the background, and the outfit I’d chosen to wear, it totally looked like we had stopped to take some #ootd pics in Belize or Brasil or any of those fabulous B cities. (Or Bey cities, hehehe). We were on vacation in our own city!
Now, speaking of vacations, I wanted to let you guys know that I’m going to be away on a real vacation of my own for the next couple weeks. My lips are sealed as to where (it’s a surprise) but you can find out more by following me on social media @ladylikeleopard. I won’t be blogging (until I get back, duh) but I’ll be doing the occasional snap + insta.
Hope you guys are having a fab summer and I’ll talk to you soon!
