Dark lips will always be in style. From wine, to burgundy to a gothic maroon, dark lips flatter everyone – and if I had to choose only one type of make-up to wear for the rest of my life, it would one hundred percent be lipstick. And right now it would be lipstick in a very deep, dark and brooding colour. So sexy.
I’m head over heels with dark lips right now. I used to be a red lip fanatic – and about half the time still am – but there’s something about inky, shadowy lips that are so intriguing to me. Or at least they seem to make you look more intriguing to others I’ve come to find.
My two favourites I’ve been using lately are a cream lip stain from Sephora in Endless Purple and a Super Lustrous lipstick from Revlon in Black Cherry.
Just because dark lips are usually reserved for nighttime doesn’t mean they can’t be worn for day time too – a fave look of mine is a dark lip with only a hint of eye makeup.
How to wear dark lipstick
Keep eye make-up simple with only a couple coats of mascara and you’re good to go. To let you lips take more of a spotlight than that, slick your hair back into a low or high pony – doesn’t matter which as long as your hair is out of your face.
